Becky Mackenzie is a Northumberland based ceramic designer and maker specialising in elegant and minimal pieces in very fine porcelain, bone china and earthenware. A graduate of Central St Martins, Becky is an avid wild swimmer and her work encapsulates the joint concepts of fragility and strength and inextricably fuses the two. Her process pushes the ceramic materials up to and often beyond their limits, many pieces don’t survive, but those that do have a natural freeness of form that ebbs and flows echoing the natural contours of the surrounding landscape, be it the rugged hills that surround her studio, or the gentle ripples on a tarn.
